FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Answers for dental practices and clinics: the appointment calendar per chair and per dentist, the digital odontogram and treatment plans, patient files, invoice drafts for 4invoices, and what the platform does and does not do today.
Appointments & practice calendar
How long does it take to start using 4dental?
Create your account, add your dentists, chairs and treatment types with their durations, and set each dentist’s schedule. The time needed depends on how much you migrate from paper; a step-by-step guide covers that.
Can patients book online by themselves?
No. Your team enters appointments in the calendar of each chair and each dentist. The platform does not offer online booking to patients.
Can I manage several dentists and several chairs?
Yes. Each chair and each dentist has its own calendar, and the duration of each treatment type is set separately.
How do I reduce no-shows?
The platform does not send reminders automatically by SMS, WhatsApp or e-mail. Your team confirms and reminds patients. The recall list helps you find patients who are due for a check-up.
Does the platform work on mobile?
The panel runs in the browser on a computer or a tablet. We do not offer a dedicated mobile app.
Odontogram, patient files & prescriptions
What does a patient file contain?
The patient file brings together contact details, visit history, consultation notes, the odontogram, the treatment plan, prescriptions and attached documents, including X-ray images.
What is the odontogram and how does the treatment plan work?
The odontogram is the dental chart of each patient, tooth by tooth, where you record the state of each tooth. Teeth that need treatment are added to the treatment plan, where each procedure has a status: proposed, accepted, scheduled or done.
Can I issue prescriptions in the platform?
Prescriptions can be written and kept in the patient file. The platform does not transmit them electronically to pharmacies or authorities.
How do you protect patients’ health data (GDPR)?
Health data is a special category of personal data under the GDPR, and the practice is the controller. Each team member works with their own account. For security measures, data location and backups, ask us for the written documentation before you sign the data processing agreement.
Does the data stay with the practice?
Yes. Patient data belongs to your practice, and we process it on its behalf under a data processing agreement. Agree the terms for leaving the platform in writing, in the contract, before you sign.
Billing, insurance, notifications & pricing
Can I invoice consultations and treatments from the practice?
Partly. From the treatment plan or the treatments performed, you prepare an invoice draft and send it to 4invoices, part of the 4b2b ecosystem, where the invoice is issued. Nothing is issued automatically.
Does the platform handle insurance claims and reimbursements?
No. 4dental does not calculate or send claims to insurance funds or insurers. The treatment plan shows procedures and costs, and you prepare the invoice draft from it.
Does the platform send SMS, WhatsApp or e-mail to patients automatically?
No. 4dental does not send SMS, WhatsApp or e-mail messages to patients automatically. Your team contacts patients through the channels it already uses.
How much does 4dental cost?
The price depends on the plan. The pricing page lists the current plans and what each one includes.
What about security and backups?
We do not describe technical security measures or backup schedules here. Ask us for the written documentation before you sign, so you know exactly what is covered.
Onboarding, migrating from paper & support
How do I get started with 4dental?
Create your account, add dentists, chairs, treatment types and schedules, then enter appointments in the calendar. More about the company on /about-us.
Can I migrate paper records?
Yes. A step-by-step guide explains how to move paper files into the platform, and the migration can be done gradually. Check beforehand which data you can carry over from another program.
Can I run the practice myself without technical skills?
Yes. You add dentists, chairs, treatment types and the recall list from the interface, without writing code. We recommend that the reception practises a few appointments before the first patients arrive.
What support do I get after launch?
Support and its terms are described in your contract with us. Contact us on /contact with questions about the platform.
Is there a partner programme?
Details about the partner programme are on /partners.
