From treatment plan to invoice draft

The treatment plan holds the procedures agreed with the patient. When the work is ready to bill, your team creates an invoice draft from that plan. The items come across from the plan, so the draft does not have to be typed again from a notebook or a separate document. The draft is a working copy for the practice to check. It is not yet an invoice, and it is not issued until it has been sent to 4invoices and issued there. The figures agreed in the plan should match the figures on the final invoice.

Issuing the invoice in 4invoices

Each draft is sent to 4invoices, the invoicing product in the 4b2b group. The invoice is issued there, from the draft. If the draft does not match what was agreed, correct it before it leaves the practice. 4dental does not issue invoices itself, and nothing goes out automatically when a treatment is recorded. This separation means the practice decides when each invoice is issued, and the issued invoice is kept in the invoicing product.

What this product does not cover

To be clear about the limits: 4dental does not handle insurance billing, does not submit claims to insurers and does not check insurance cover. If part of a patient’s treatment is funded by a third party, your practice handles that outside the software. Check the invoicing set-up with your accountant before you rely on it. A draft is only as accurate as the treatment plan behind it, so the team should review each draft before it is sent.
