One calendar per chair and per dentist
A practice with three chairs and two dentists cannot run from a single agenda. A free chair is no use if the right dentist is busy, and the reverse is also true. 4dental keeps a separate calendar for each chair and each dentist, so the front desk can see which combinations are free before it offers a time. Each procedure takes the length you have set for it, so a check-up does not block the room needed for a root canal. The front desk sees the whole practice on one screen and books the slot that fits both the chair and the dentist. Your team makes every booking. The calendars show where the real capacity is.
Durations that match each procedure
Not every appointment is the same length. A check-up, a scale and polish and a longer restorative visit need different slots, and a diary that treats them all alike either wastes time or runs late. In 4dental, each procedure type has its own duration, so when your staff choose a procedure, the length of the slot follows from it. This keeps the day realistic for the dentist and clear for the front desk, and it means a short check-up is never booked into a slot meant for a longer treatment.
Recall: knowing who is due, without a paper list
Many patients never return for their six-month check-up, not because they chose not to, but because nobody contacted them. 4dental keeps a recall list of patients who are due for a periodic check-up. Your team sees who is due or overdue, contacts them through the channels your practice already uses, and marks the reminder as done in the system. The system does not send recall reminders by itself, so the practice decides when and how to contact each patient. The list replaces a paper card index or a spreadsheet kept at the front desk.
What the system does not do
To set expectations clearly: patients cannot book online by themselves, and 4dental does not send appointment or recall reminders by SMS, WhatsApp or e-mail. Your practice staff book, confirm and change appointments. If your practice relies on online self-booking or on automatic patient messages, check this before you sign up, because the product does not offer either of them. Staff make every booking and decide when and how a patient is contacted. If you want a tool that fills the diary without staff involvement, 4dental is not that tool.
